I am a novice on suspension. I was looking at the rear end just inspecting and noticed these boots which are attached the rear sway bar? are cracked. The car is 20 years old and I was cracked at 20 as well. So are these links on the sway bar? Should I worry about it or not? There are lots of comments on sway bars, but I could not find anything about these little links.
Those plastic end links were a recognized weakness that were replaced with metal ones in later years of the C5. I'd suggest just replacing them regardless of how the boots look. Doubtful you'll feel a difference in performance with the stock anti-sway bar, but for $30 each from Cultrag, it's a reasonable upgrade to a known weakness.
[QUOTE=LoneStarFRC;1592849504]Dale for $19.94 ea I replaced mine with the MS50823 Mevotech units from Rock Auto. They appear to be of good quality and I've been pleased with them.
Thanks folks. Learning something new about the c5 everyday. I ordered the rear ones from Cultrag yesterday.
Is there any trick I need to be aware of when installing them. It seems pretty straight forward.
You need to put a small wrench or socket on the hex end of the stud after you thread the nut on to keep the stud from turning when you tighten it. Other than that, Its as easy as falling off a log!

Heh... I think the first one is Easy as pie, then Easy as falling off a log, then Easy as taking candy from a baby, and lastly an Easy girl (I think there might be multiples saying for the gal). Just havin' some fun with my close by neighbor.
I did it at the same time as a brake job, so car lifted, wheels off, suspension just hanging. I did NOT disconnect the mounting brackets.
No idea if taking wheels off is necessary, but with them off and the car in the air, there was no tension/friction at all to get these out and replaced.
Got them done, but they were easier to remove by loosening the sway bar bracket. These things had been on there for 20 years and so were a little stubborn. But got em done! Thanks to all.
