CEL with no Codes
I have a friend calling me about her 2000 coupe. She, and the dealer, says she has a check engine light but no codes. Is that possible?
I told her to disconnect the battery, wait a while and then try it again.
I did some searching here but I can't find anything.
She recently had the EBCM repaired and replaced.

Do you know if all her readiness tests read READY ??
Finally the ECM is connected to the BCM for several of the car's functions-----I would guess that the NEW BCM is NOT communicating with the ECM--especially if you clear the code and it comes back----
PS ALSO the ECM's ODB2 port has a fuse----GM hides it on the Cigarette lighter circuit----Mkae sure this fuse is good----

Check the DTCs with the engine RUNNING and see if ANY DTCs are showing. Use the DIC and report ALL the DTCs that it gives you.
IF,,,,,,,,, you have any messages in the DIC display, just press RESET until they disappear.
If you have a CEL = It HAS A DTC!
