Default Vararam power duct install

i picked up a power duct at Carlisle yesterday, and just installed it on my c5. My car already had a vararam Intake, but had a chrome air bridge. I also have a aftermarket mass air meter. I tried my hardest to get the mass air to fit in front of the power duct, but it would not fit snug inside the power duct. I added a rubber fitting to it, and the TB.,but then the assembly would not line up. I ended up putting the Maf back into the stock position, and everything fit nicely.

I know vararam says they want the mass air closer to the TB, but is it necessary, and if so any ideas how to get the thing to line up?

Seems like noting is easy install with vararam.

there is a notch on the bottom of the stock mass air meter that i had to notch the fitting so it would all line up..but you have aftermarket one so that may be different fitting

What year is the car and are there two different ducts available? As I recall, there was a diameter change in the hardware somewhere around 2001. Can't recall the specifics but a friend had a 2000 and another a 2005 both running the same CAI, the difference was the diameter of some of the parts.

I had the same issue. I also had to add the rubber fitting to the MAF to get it to fit snug in the power duct. As far as lining up, I had to add a longer silicone coupler to reach the power duct to the vararam. I still have about 7 inches left over (I bought 12" length). If you'd like to give it a shot I'll send it to you for just the cost of shipping. Email me bddolewski@gmail.com
