I'm a newbie as you can see
Car has 118k on it and it started to Make a metal to metal grinding sound when the clutch has just started to engage and move in any gear. After releasing the clutch and start moving the sound stops
Anyone have this problem before?
Thanks for any help
It sounds very much like a bad throwout bearing. Unfortunately, you have to remove the complete drivetrain from the bell housing back to service that part. You might as well start looking for a new clutch if you are that far into the repair.
Is the drivetrain all OEM? What modifications do you have?

I'm having a similar issue but with a new clutch. Sounds like transmission gears grinding just as its starting to engage. Otherwise it's fine. I have a Monster LT1-S twin disc and have been told they make noise so I assumed that it was typical. What you are describing sounds a lot like what I'm hearing. Based on some research a bad pilot bearing can make this kind of noise as clutch is engaging

Thanks, When I find someone to repair it I will post what they find
It was the pilot bearing causing the noise.
It was destroyed and I did not drive many miles after it started.
Going back with LS7 clutch kit, Slave bearing, master cylinder, bleeder line and a MGW short throw shifter. Hope to get to drive it longer this time
