Default Fan controller blows in hot area - use Hypertech.

I purchased and had installed one of those $150 or $200 fan controller that connect to the fans the battery and have a probe that is inserted into the radiator fins. It would only turn on the low speed fans because it cannot handle the high amperage of the high speed fans and did absolutely nothing for my car except on the coolest of evenings. I have a 160 degree thermostat and used the setting on the Hypertech for that thermostat which turns the low speed fans on at 184 and off at 175 and turns the high speed fans on at 194 and off at 185. This works perfectly even in 90 plus degrees and stop and go traffic in Southern California. If you are in a hot area and want your car to run the coolest, bypass the fan controller and buy the Hypertech. Just an opinion for anyone interested.

Interesting. I have a Vinci Constant Fan Controller and it works great. My temps have always been fine on the street and the fan controller improved my temps when road racing and kept the engine around 220 degrees max throught a half hour session in 100 degree weather.

You mileage may vary...
