Alternator question

Alternator question
So, today I attempted to change out my remaned alternator with a new reman from advanced Auto. Get it bolted in and everything connected properly and go to start the car to find that once on and running, it only is putting out 11.3 volts on the dic. Take it back to the store that I bought it from and had it tested there and it tested good on their system. Is their another part that I need to purchase or it could it be something else? (Another new alternator will be at the store tomorrow) Any advice would be very greatly appreciated

You guys really need to come here and do a little research, you cannot just replace a C 5 alt. with a rebuild, they are very specific to our cars !!!!

If you read enough on the Forum you will see that a few, very few, people have gotten rebuilt alternators that work correctly on the C5.
If I were you I would be VERY cautious with trying to install just any reman alternator in the C5. The info in the link above talks to why the run of the mill rebuilds do not meet the requirements of the alternator for the C5.
Your symptoms and Charge System Fault errors are the results of alternators installed but NOT suitable for the C5.
Additionally you need to use a digital multi meter at the battery posts to determine what voltage the alternator is actually putting out with the engine running. The dash gauges in the C5 are after the ignition switch, a well known weak point on the C5, and readings seldom match the actual voltage at the battery.
You should also measure the voltage output from the alternator output post to ground and compare that to the voltage at the battery when the engine is running. There are well documented symptoms of incorrect voltage at the battery due to poor, loose or corroded connections at the starter solenoid.

Success.
After taking it for a drive around the block, turned it on and voltage is where it should be. With the ac on in 6th going 60mph, constant 13.4v on the IPC and no charge system fault
