Default Inadverent traction control

Hey Guys, had the front driver side brake all of a sudden , slam on causing the steering wheel to pull sharply left . I know there has been lengthy posts on this issue but pulled a C-1282 Code entitled "front seat yaw sensor " . Do you guys have any remedial action to prescribe or do we "chalk it up " as one of those C-5 Gremlins.
Your thoughts ?

If it's the same problem we had where you could feel it and a warning came across the dic. It wasn't catastrophic but troublesome. It turned out to be the steering wheel position sensor which I replaced myself. I can't remember the cost, but not earth shattering, I think I bought it from Rockauto.

C1282 is the YAW sensor acting up. YAW sensor is a part of the AH system. Have you been in the area under the radio recently? That is where the YAW rate sensor lives. Back left side of the bracket that supports the radio and HVAC components. The sensor itself is generally pretty reliable. I would inspect the electrical connection and wiring first especially if you have been in that area recently.

Clear the code and drive the car to see if the code comes back. NOT an inexpensive part if it is failing.

Were there any other codes showing when you pulled them??
Except the sensor under the radio is the impact sensor (SDM) for the air bag. Yaw sensors on AH cars live under the carpet under the passenger seat, next to the tunnel. The carpet is pre-molded to provide a "cubby" so-to-speak for where it lives.
I too would recommend checking the connector for corrosion or partial disconnect issues. Water on the floorboard could possibly get into it, but I think it would take a pretty wet floorboard though. Liquid spill, maybe?

Here's some helpful info:

As a side note, everytime I see someone with AH issues, I am SO glad my car came without it.

Edit: after searching a bit, I finally found a decent view of where it lives. This pic is an Ebay pic listing a shale carpet for sale. The small "cubby" can easily be seen just to the rear of the left front seat mount location.

Sorry for the sideways pictures. They appear correct on my PC but are rotated for some reason when insert them into the thread.
Since my car does not have AH (thank God), I guess I was looking at things from that perspective, as I've been inside the cavity under my radio numerous times over the years and the only thing I have there is the SDM sensor.
I'm thinking the two sensor work in unison perhaps? That would make sense (NPI).
Don't worry about the sideways pix, I've seen a couple other folks have that same problem lately. I DID note however, that when I clicked on the "reply with quote" button to post here, your 2 links show up as a series of numbers and when I clicked on the numbers, the pictures showed up correctly (not rotated). Go figure.

Seems like I read a warning doing the double din install not to relocate the YAW for seriously affecting AH ????

That sounds like good advice to me.

Thanks for the reply . The yaw sensor is located under the passenger seat. Will check out the electrical connectors
