I have a 2002 C5 and would like to know what short blocks will mate up to my M6 tranny? I'm running Trickflow's top end kit so I need the heads to match the block too. I think all LS engines will work, but I'm unsure about the LS7...I know you guys know all about it. Help me out. Thanks
all or most that I know of all have the same bellhousing bolt pattern. That is why you see so many LS engines in everything !!! Like all the older GM cars of yesteryear !!!!!! has always been one of the cool things GM !!!
I don't think that the LS1 heads will bolt up to the LS7. You could always get a LS3 and bore and stroke it to a 427. Or do a 408 with a LS2 bored and stroked.
408 is my next build! Since I have total engine airflow heads milled to 61cc ported I am still trying to figure out my compression. What I figured out so far I would be at 12.34:1 with regular flat top pistons.

seeing that the trans is in the rear of the car I don't think it matters... just kidding, but to answer your question any ls block or aftermarket ls style block (lsx, rhs, erl, etc) will work in the car and bolt up to the bellhousing
ls1,ls6 and ls2 heads are all interchangeable..but you can't put ls3 heads on a ls1/ls6 ...ls2 and ls6 heads are the same exact head expect the ls6 has the different valve's for higher rpm....ls1/ls6 heads will not work on a ls3 and up
