Outside Mirror off Base
Not a highly technical issue, but when I went out to the garage to take the 'Vette ('98 coupe) for a blast, I noticed that the driver's side mirror was flopping around on its base. Could be that one of my relatives, while exiting through the garage bumped into it. How is it secured to the base, and is there an easy fix?

I looked at a couple of the 'fixes". and being a lazy, old man who never realized that the mirrors were designed to swivel in the first place, will try redneck engineering. Goriila glue is your friend.

A number of us have used silicone - I used GE clear. Has the advantage that if I get enthusiastic about ripping the door apart, I can use a thin thread to cut the mirror lose. Was a whole thread on here a while back about the same topic.
