Default Cooling Issues Advice?

My situation is different because my car is not stock its procharged LS6.

Any way my temps are not bad on the hwy just stop light to stop light in the city, it can get to 230 degrees. On the hwy about 200 degrees.

I cleaned condensor and radiator from all the stuff that clogs it up, my question is my stock shroud is cut on both sides and just the center plastic is still in place. Would putting some plastic around the front inside the engine bay reflect back into the radiator more? Is the incoming air escaping into the engine bay? Also the top radiator support has been cut and modified for the supercharger to fit. I wonder if air is coming thru that as well? The front plastic shroud seems flimsy and not really secure.

Any advice or thoughts. Thanks in advance.

the shroud is there to direct air though the radiator, the more openings the less effective !!!

Are BOTH fans running when they are on. Factory wiring setup is such that the fans are electrically in series with both fans running for low speed operation and are switched to electrically parallel again with both fans running for high speed operation. Many possible causes of only one fan running in either low or high speed operation.

Not sure but when I turn the car off at around 220 225 degrees, I hear the fans turn off when the motor is shut down.

I am sure the tune has fans coming on early.

Closing the openings the best you can may help a few degrees but it is not going to make a large difference.
OK Thanks alot. I suspect as well that the side openings where cut to fit the piping of the intercoolers . I will have to check the fans wiring and make sure both come on.

ok its not the fans, I just got under and checked, Both fans are pulling hot air, my current temps are 208 degrees and both fans are working.

I will review that diagram in more detail, but I removed about 5inches of rubber pipe from the purge valve. Seems the air flow was being blocked somewhat from the fans, don't know how much it will help.

Also I have a transmission cooler right up front where the a/c condensor is, don't know if this is a culprit or not, it looks clean from debree.
10 15 amp fuses look good, but cannot tell how to check the relays.

Its just when I drive lower speeds in stop and go traffic do the temps go up.

Oh wanted to mention that where the incoming air comes up front, there seems to be only like a 6 inch gap. I thought they were larger, don't know if that anything to do with the cut shroud bolts on the bottom.

Just because the two fans run in low speed mode does NOT mean that they are both running in high speed mode. How to I put the fans in high speed?

Wow that's awesome, seems like the same problem I am having. This stop and go is what's killing me.

I will look more into it and get those same supplies.

How much of the shroud do I have to cut behind the license plate?

I didn't measure but if you look here you can see what I cut out https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1584147188

the filler plate itself was pretty much self explanatory I left the same amount all the way around for stability..I think an inch

now that I have had this system in place awhile I think if I do anything else I will figure out a better pump and larger coolant tank for the maggie...I think that would involve a battery relocate though as the tank would fill that existing battery area

I think that would be a job for Joe at Powertech since I would probably need a tank fabricated.

Well I went ahead and did mine yesterday, Its not perfect, but the temps do come down some. My situation was a little bit different. What was happening was my blow off valve filter was blocking the pass side fan, so it was not efficent enough of letting that hot air escape and the temps would take longer to come down. So I shortened the plastic tubing and now the temps come down faster when the A/C is off.

Today it was about 88-89 degrees humid here in fla and with A/C on temps averaging about 205-208. So I am pleased with this mod because it helps. I did not cut the shroud, but this mod will get more air into the intercoolers and go around the shroud.
