C5 CV Boot tear
I drive a 2002 corvette convertible - all stock - with 80k miles. The car is just a daily street driver with a lot of highway miles.
I found a tear in my inner CV boot and hit the forums. After reading a lot of old threads I decided my best bet was to buy an OEM CV boot and have a shop replace it for me.....then I found out the OEM replacement boots are no longer available
What are my options now? I have yet to inspect my CV joints, but I am fairly certain they are in fine condition. Is my only option to buy a new OEM halfshaft for ~$300? I have seen that you can buy a used CV half shaft for a fair price from a dismantler, but it seems like such a waste to buy a whole new axle when my axle is fine besides a tiny tear in the boot.....
Hopefully I can get the Vette on the road soon, my 100 mile daily commute is a little more expensive in my big blocked truck at 10 mpg....
Thanks for all the help in advance

Otherwise, someone must have a replacement available like a MEVOTECH DX425
They also match with mid 2000 Pathfinder front outer boot.

I then went to my local dealer to confirm. There are supposedly two available in CT, but when I called that dealership they initially told me they didn't have that part in stock. There is a little bit of hope though, the dealership called me back later saying the parts manager was out for the day and would call me tomorrow...Even if they do have it - I'm not sure they will ship it to Florida for me
I will look into the mevotech boot. Thanks for the tip
I tried searching the brand name on this forum and didn't come up with any useful results - are the mevotech boots similar in quality to the OEM boots?
