Default Best upgrade

Hello folks, I just have to chime in on this one, I like to give credit where credit is dew.

With that said I just purchased a cherry 98 supercharged red convert with 30K original miles, all mods done correctly and babied.

But after reading on the forums about the weka link in the factory clutch master cylinder , I had to jump on the Tick performance replacement.

Needless to say I love the 100% difference in clutch grab and ease of gears clicking like clock work, I have to say it is a must if your a C5 manual vehicle owner, I also have read the C6 also benefits with the Tick performance upgrade.

I really noticed the difference on this last weekends cruise for Lottery tickets in AZ, never missed a shift cruising upwards into the 170mph range, simply impressed that a $300 part can put a smile on my face, and ultimately save wear on the clutch.

Thanks Tick performance!!!!

Glad you like it. But I think the Radio Flyer headlights are the BEST upgrade if you drive at night.

What SUSPENSION do you have in the car and how many miles are on the components? Sounds like you drive it like its meant to be driven.

If you have STOCK suspension parts or high mileage parts, some UP-GRADEs will make you SMILE!

I dont know if this was asked to me or Sam, But I have Hotchkis suspension front and back sways , upgraded Bilstein shocks, has 18 front/19 back, Michelin PS2's, upgraded Baer rotors and pads, repistoned DRM calipers, new HD hubs and hardened HP half shafts. only 30k on odometer, maybe 2000 miles on the setup., Very pleased with the ride, 150-160 feels like 100mph, tight as a drum.

LOL!!! Your NOT lacking much on that car!!!

As Sam stated,, ,, HEADLIGHTS!!
Our headlights S U C K! A great set of headlights makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD when you drive at night. When I purchased my C6, I could NOT believe how bad the C5 headlights really are. The OEM HID C6 lighting is far superior to the C5 headlights!!!

That and a really good sound system and you will have it licked!

Maybe an inexpensive C7 Coupe Daily Driver to hold you over when you not driving the 98.

what clutch are you running?... I like my tick master too, paired with my twin disc the shifts are lightning fast and with a boosted car like yours that definitely helps by keeping the rpms from dropping so much between shifts so you can stay in boost where it should be

As far as I know it is the factory clutch , car only has 30k miles, dont have any slipping issues at all so far, car isn't beat on, just some high speed cruising.

I think half of the problems people have with stock Z06 clutches for example is they put drag radials on and dont consider the Clutch master or shifter upgrade.

People also dont even check their clutch fluid condition, simple things like these can make a world of difference even on factory equipment.

We all know the Clutch master and sloppy shifter are 2 weak points from GM.

When I get up to the 600hp range I will invest in a new setup while the engine is out, but until I have problems, let the good times Roll!!!!
