Default Best Source for OEM Driveshaft Couplers

I have tried to find out where to get OEM Couplers. Doing a Clutch change over and while in there why not change them? Car has only 65K but it is 97 and Rubber gets brittle with age.

Anyone have a good source?

I am going to keep it stock. I only have a Vararam snorkel and a K&N on it now. Most later I might do is some exhaust work. So not 450 hp+ thing.

PS. In doing research on the LS7 Clutch Swap I have blown up pics of "GM" LS7 Clutches and on the Disk you can see the LUK Logo on it. So I bought the LUK Pro Gold 04-905 kit that a guy here recommended. Parts Geek was the best price and saved me almost 200.00. Same Clutch?

that is not an ls7 clutch, that is not even an ls6 clutch. that is a base coupe c5 clutch. LUK is an oem disc maker as well as aftermarket. that is the weakest clutch you can put in a c5 which is why it's the least expensive. send it back, get an ls7 kit around $400. it's beyond worth it when you're in this deep

the ls7 clutch is a nice upgrade since it won't be sticky at stock power levels when you drive it hard.

there are a few members who have couplers sourced, gm parts direct is often cheap but sticks it in you with inflated shipping. if you get part numbers and if there are any delco cross numbers you can check amazon

Well go out to Google Images and put in LS7 clutch. Check this image link:

Enlarge it and Look at the print on the Clutch Disk. You can see the oval that is the LUK logo.

I would be really interested in some photos of what you find when you pull the couplers. This is one item I have on my list of things to keep an eye on.

I understand there is a BMW part number that is identical to the C5 coupler, at a lower price. Do your research to confirm.

BMW part number 26 11 1 227 410 – 12mm coupler

Make sure you get the "Made In Germany" FEBI or Lemforder brands, there are some weaker Asian made clones out there.

While I think that everyone is trying to be helpful, the OP asked about the rubber couplers, while the discussion went to clutch kits. Ironically, the picture posted, has long-time Corvette Forum sponsor, Cultrag Performances' image "ghosted" in the background.

My suggestion for the OP is to contact Gene Culley, at Cultrag............

Point taken, although O.P. did also ask about "Luk clutch" in very first post of thread.

Chevy Parts Prime - I have used this source a number of times in the past and they do NOT jack you around with BS "shipping and handling" fees. Formerly GM Parts East

GM 12456212 coupler $137.37 ea.
GM 12456213 bolt (if needed)

Pretty much have to nut-up and pay the price. You can spend hours shopping around to save an extra dollar or two, and then wind up buying something from a dubious source. I recommend staying AWAY from Dorman or any of the "BMW" couplers (guibos). Stay away from anything where the ad says "replaces" GM blah, blah, etc.
If you decide to reuse your old bolts, I recommend cleaning the threads, including the female threads, with acetone (dissolves thread locker). Re-apply RED threadlocker and be sure to note the arrows on the coupler for correct bolt orientation.

Red threadlocker, as in "remove with high temps" threadlocker?
