Default Do you need to keep the headlight control module when installing fixed assemblies?

Hello all,

Not sure if it's just because I'm new to the forum and just need to learn how to work the search feature a little better or if it actually doesn't exist, so if I'm starting a thread that's already been discussed I apologize ahead of time.

That being said, I recently installed the DEPO headlight kit on my 2001 C5 Coupe because I'm not a fan of the flip up headlights. Nothing wrong with them, they're just not for me.

When I took the stock assemblies and brackets out, I noticed the headlight control module is attached to the passenger side assembly. I unplugged it, covered the connectors going to the harness, and then zip-tied them out of the way.

I've not had any problems as of yet, so I think I already know the answer. However, I just want to make sure as to whether or not I actually need the module before I sell the assemblies and find out I need the module and have to go buy a new one.

Any input on this would be much appreciated.

You will NOT need the module however,,, It is a failure item and Im SURE someone will need it so,,,,,,,,,,,, PLEASE don't just trash it if its in working order.

Even if its trashed, some people like me love to have them to tinker and FIX what GM says is NOT repairable!!! LOL!

Awesome!

Not to worry. I was planning on selling it with the headlight assemblies if I didn't need to keep it.

Will be making an ad after work now that I know I don't need the module.

Thanks Bill!
