Default 1999 C5 computer

Lately my dashboard info area for trip, gauges, etc. does not work. After driving for 20-30 minutes, sometimes it starts showing data. The local Corvette clinic said it may be the dash or some module? or another electro thing a ma bob that may be going out. He said they are not made anymore and I should look on ebay? Anybody have an idea of what I need to buy or repair? Thanks

To me it seems you have weak component / soldering/connections somewhere that getter better when the temperature increase .

Does all of your gauges goes from dead to show actual values after 20-30 min driving ?
Is your display in the cluster also dead (black) until 20-30 min driving (no information shown in the display at all before the car is driven )?

If yes to both I would have checked the powersupply and ground connections to the cluster

The DIC is part of the instrument cluster so that's the item you'd need, not a computer. There's a circuit board in the cluster which that is soldered to. Clusters are a dime a dozen on Ebay if you want one. But, the mileage is stored on it so that would need reset unless you can find one so close to yours that you don't care. I got one within 2500 miles and mine has 100K+ so +or- 2k I didn't care.

Those are a vacuum florescent display so failure is unlikely. I agree with oelarse that some re-soldering might be in order.
