Probably not BAD wheel speed sensors but more likely problems with either the wiring to/from the sensors or the connectors themselves having wither spread contact surfaces or possibly corrosion. The sensors themselves are pretty bullet proof and seldom fail.
Pull the codes and they should reveal which of the 4 sensors is complaining.....
Then get the car in the air and check the wiring for the problem wheels as well as separating the 2 halves of the connector to examine for mal-formed pins and/or corrosion. Repair as needed.
the reason I am wondering is because a couple years ago it was intermittent then went away...codes at that time indicated bad speed sensor....this new issue just started yesterday....going along about 50 and hit the gas and the traction system active lit up.....no wheel spin so that was odd....hit it again and held the throttle down and the message lit up again and you could feel it pull the power just like you would if the wheels were spinning for as long as I was trying to accelerate...I just said fk it and turned TC off
SWPS is not a clean it and go repair. If it continues to create a problem then replacement is the ONLY option. Is this on your 99???? If so then there are NO new replacements available. ONLY thing available will be previously owned.
If the car is a 2001 - 2004 then there are still new SWPS available......
IF,,,,,,,,, you have that TRACTION SYSTEM ACTIVE DIC Message and NO EBTCM DTCs, the EBTCM computer "THINKS" that you have wheel slippage (one or both) rear wheels.
What happens if you put it in COMP MODE "if you have comp mode"???
If you have COMP MODE, that should take traction control out of the equation.
Are your differential limited slip clutches properly functioning and locking both rear axles to provide you equal limited slip traction?

Bill,
the codes this go round said SWPS....no wheel codes.
No Comp mode.....if I turn off TCS I don't have issues
also should be noted that with all the tuning I have had done I think my settings are far from stock
