I finally got around to putting in some "upgraded" headlight capsules. After they were in place I noticed they needed a minor adjustment. That's when the fun started, I noticed one of the adjusters was "stripped" and would not move the light at all. Does anyone know if you can buy replacement parts for the light assembly or if the whole unit has to be replaced as I was told by my local dealership. Is there another way to adjust the lights by some alternative method. I'm grasping at straws, please help!!! Thanks in advance for you assistance! :cry
The method I used on my stripped screw (horizontal adjustment) was a tie wrap and thick plastic washer. The washer and a tie wrap positioned correctly keeps all in place and aligned.
You said you noticed this afer a bulb install, are you 100% that you have the bulbs in correctly ?
I only ask this because when I put the PIIA bulbs in mine I got one of them half off and it looked like the headlight was out of adjustment. :smash:
Great suggestion, I had the same thoughts...checked the bulb in question, even changed the bulb. still same results...low beam is great, but when you switch to high beams, the left side is in the trees!!! Thanks for the reply!
The washer was placed at a contact point between horizontal adjustment screw and body of headlight. I used a thick enough washer to give me the horizontal aiming adjustment I needed. Then I found a hole in the lamp and assembly to put the tie wrap in to secure all together and prevent movement.
