Hi guys, I'm debating getting a tech 2, I was wondering how many ppl on here have one...if they are worth it...and what the latest coverage is with the most up to date software...I have other Chevys I own and could use a good scanner but want to be sure of the coverage
I have had mine for a couple years, my software is good up to 2013. I bought mine mostly for the Auto bleed function, and have used it for other things also. Well worth the money !!!!!
Just got mine recently. It was $254 delivered. The brake bleed is a nice thing to have. The big deal is that you can access the Body Control module and make changes there. Also, the very clear drill down to what is causing a trouble code is nice.
So far I used it on a 2009 Pontiac G6 to replace a remote key entry radio reciever that requires a reprogram of the BCM, bled the brakes, programmed new key fobs, & isolated a traction control trouble code directly to a defective speed sensor on the front passenger side. Without the Tech2 I would have had to pay the dealer and it would have exceeded the cost of the Tech2 by far, so I'm money ahead right now. The rest is just gravy.
Ok I have a 2011 Cruze and the 98 vette... I wanted something under 300 that would do both but I was reading and it seems the Cruze might be on the new system?? Anyone who has one can you verify that the clone would work or should I look at one of the laptop software scanners ??
Thanks again guys
