HVAC repair gone wrong - Help!

I pulled my ac controls to fix the dim display problem and thought the connector between the front board and temp rheostat was just a connector to be removed, but it isn't. So now I have it off and can't get all the wires back on and the connector and locked back down. I get them all stuck back where they should be and when I try to lock them in with the connector all the posts give way and bend under the pressure I apply.

Looking for suggestions to get this back together shy of soldering each wire back in place.

I did this too. You can solder the leads back on to the printed circuit. I did it and and it wasn't that hard. Get a friend to help you hold things in place when you solder it.
