So I am picking up some Trickflow 215s and will need to get some roller rockers. I was set on some Yella Terra's, but the guy I'm buying them off of has some comp ultra gold 1.7s that he would include with the sale for an extra $200. I can't find any feedback on people using these rockers. Has anyone used them?
I am running the YT Gen III rockers and have been happy with them. Are the Comps the later non-adjustable design? I would review the installation and see if they are capable of shimming. I needed to shim my YT's to get the correct wipe pattern and that also increased my pushrod length.
the comps are adjustable/shimmable, too. at least the magnum or whatever rockers i have on mine. but from what ive read, Manley and Yella Tella are way better than my comps.
Yea. They are non adjustable. I am thinking of buying them for a reasonably priced rocker and then save up and switch out for a set of yella Terra's later on.
I have used several different rockers on LS builds----My preferred choice is the Yella Terra Ultralight shaft rockers------Never ever had a valve train issue using them-----depends on your budget and how hard or how high RPM's you plan on running your engine---A daily driver with some occasional spirited driving any aftermarket brand will suffice----But if you plan on road racing or drag racing I would suggest the best there is--That is the yella terra's
PS If your budget is low-----I have had excellent results by simply doing the Comp Cams "Trunion upgrade" This upgrade converts the rockers to roller bearings and is plenty safe for running high RPM's with lifts below .600------But not as safe as the shaft rocker YT's
