Default Cleartastic C5 MIRROR COVERS

Dear C/F Members,

We now have C5 SIDE MIRROR COVERS!

This kit protects your mirrors paint from flying rocks and road debris while driving.
The mirror is one big compound curve! My main concern was to design a kit with plenty of coverage and without any “Slits”. (Compound curves are usually handled by a "slit" to relieve the film).
Slits are unattractive. They look like cracks. Slits also over time invite water and dirt in and create a peak that just looks bad. So our goal was to overcome this.

We created a 3-piece kit (for each side), which while eliminating slits, it also offers great coverage to protect all the vulnerable areas of the mirror (not just the front edge) and part of the arm.
It’s precut to fit beautifully to the contour of the mirror. The lines are designed to flow with the mirror.

Clear so it lets your C5’s color show through!
No adhesives! The film will not slide or move so it will not rub and wear your paint!
Put them on, leave them on. If you want to take it off, it’s removable.
Leaves NO residue. Of course like all of our other kits it’s re-usable!
Easy to apply!

Right now only $29.95!

We also just released C5 99-2003 SILL PAINT PROTECTORS

This kit protects your doorsills paint from scuffs, scrapes and the inevitable wear.

It’s precut to fit beautifully on the sill and around the factory black pad.
No logo. No inscription. We made this with the person who wants his or her C5 to look factory fresh/ original in mind.

Totally clear so it lets your C5’s color show through. Once applied there practically invisible.
No adhesives or Velcro. It adheres via static cling. Our protectors will not slide or move so it will not rub and wear your paint!
If you want to take it off, it’s removable. Leaves NO residue. Of course like all of our other kits it’s re-usable!
Easy to apply!

We hope you like our newest additions to our line. Thank you for your time. Always feel free to call if you have any questions!

Sincerely ,

Ed

That's awesome, Ed. I might have to get a set soon. I do have mirror bras for now, but your covers would be invisible. :yesnod:

What you have looks good for as far as it goes. I haven't bought the product since it doesn't cover all of the damage areas. What we need is protection all the way around the front and rear wheel wells, including the painted surfaces inside the wheel well. Protection along the complete rocker panel would help also. One trip to a gritty track that I did not prepare for by taping the wheel wells has left all the wheel wells and inward sloping parts of the fenders looking very pock marked. All it took was 6 50 second runs through the course.

Our kits #46 & #64 (that go behind the frt. and rear wheels replacing mud flaps) do have insert pieces that wrap into the wheel well and protects the painted area directly behind the frt. and rear wheels.(that's where it gets the most abuse)

As for the rocker, currently we have a kit (#18), which is 18" long and protects the lower rocker where it flares out.
We will be completing the whole rocker in the near future.
Thanks for the reply. Feel free to call me if you have any other questions..

I use the complete cleartastic kit on my C-5. I show the car and at the shows I make sure that the judges are shown the product on the car. they don't deduct points and at this time since april I have won 5 first place and two second place trophys. I have a 97 C-5 (stock) and am up against 97-2002 cars. the cleartastics make no difference in the judging and if they told me that I would have to remove the product from the car or have points deducted, I would take the car out of the show because there is no way I would drive the car home and risk my paint just for a trophy. Ed makes a product that is excillent and before I would put a glue on product , or mud flaps on my car I would definately use his product even if it was twice the price that he currently sells it for. that's my 2cents. wcj :seeya :hat

I am the test mule for the mirror covers. I have had one on my driver's mirror for a few months. It now has several marks in it where stones have hit the mirror, especially on the trip to Carlisle. The mirror underneath is like brand new and there is not a mark in the paint, but it does point to how much stuff hits the mirrors on a C5.

Headlight doors, that would be a good thing to have covered :yesnod:

Clem,
Yes they will stay in place in the rain.

I have tested with our product through a whole winter with snow & rain (Not the Vettes, volunteered my wife’s car :D) Stayed in place.

We wind tunnel tested in dry and in rain conditions. I had them test up to 160 mph.
(I tough that would be enough) They held perfect.

One of the posts above (by Vettenuts) states:
"I have had one on my driver's mirror for a few months. It now has several marks in it where stones have hit the mirror, especially on the trip to Carlisle. The mirror underneath is like brand new and there is not a mark in the paint"

I believe that weekend it did rain during the trip back from Carlisle. The kit didn’t budge.

Feel free to call me if you have any other questions.

Ed

OK here's what I did...
I put together a 3-kit package, which will include:

(#46) Protects behind frt. and rear wheels (including the painted areas that wrap into the wheel wells) $59.95
(#18) Protects the lower rocker in front of the rear wheel where it flares out (18"long). $23.95
(#48) The Mirror Covers. $29.95

If bought separately $113.85

Since we already have a Combo kit#64 (which combines #46 & #18 and is already at a special price of $66.99) we will do a special for all 3 kits for just $89.95!

And for the Z06 guys we put together a kit for you...
Since you have no need for our #kit 18 (because of the brake ducks)We combined (#46) which protects behind frt. and rear wheels (including the painted areas that wrap into the wheel wells)
and the Mirror covers for a special price of $72.99

Thanks for your interest! If you have any questions Please call or email me at edgentile@cleartastic.com

Thanks,

Ed

I did (about 5 posts up from this one)

At this time I don't have a kit for that area.
I'm stepping out for a while but If you want, email me in detail where your getting marks or wear in the paint beyond the factory strip(a picture would be great). Maybe if it isn’t something complicated (like the Mirrors) we can work on it...

Ed
