I had my battery disconnected for a couple days and when i hooked it back up my fob would not work. So i started the relearn process. When i get to fob training you are suppose to hit reset to start fob programming but it stays on fob training. It does beep when i hit reset but will not go any further.
bo rfa no comms. I did put a new receiver in the car a couple months ago. The receiver i put in was the newer one for 01-04. I tried holding down lock and unlock with no luck. Is there a fuse for the receiver? I was thinking maybe it blew a fuse when connecting battery back up since it says no comms.
To match transmitters to your vehicle:
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver Information
Center (DIC) by pressing the RESET button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several times
until the blank page is displayed, then press and hold
the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed,
push the RESET button once. The message HOLD
LK + UNLK 1ST FOB in the DIC will be displayed.
5. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the
first transmitter simultaneously for five seconds.
6. When a transmitter is learned (matched), the DIC
will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you
to learn the second transmitter.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the third transmitter.
8. Remove the key from the ignition.
The programming mode will shut off if any of following
has occurred:
You don’t program any transmitters for two minutes.
You take the key out of the ignition.
You have programmed three transmitters.
27 fuse is good. Put a new one in to be sure. I still get no comm on rfa. When i reconnected the battery do you think it could of blew the receiver? The receiver is only a couple months old. The original one went bad. That is why i put the newer one in.

The instructions in my owners manual (04) do not say anything about having the radio OFF. I also checked the owners manual for the earlier year cars and they also do not mention having the radio OFF. So not sure where you got that info........
I cannot imagine that any radio operating within its proper design frequencies would have an impact on the operation or programming of the keyless remotes.
The directions i have say turn the ignition to on. Turn the radio off. I dont remember where i printed them from.
I have already cleaned the grounds. The original receiver was bad. When it went bad it created a bunch of weird issues. It took forever to figure it out. I am not getting any weird issues like before. Is there a way to test the receiver?
I checked the ground wire on the receiver and voltage was good. I decided to hook the receiver back up and what do you know it started working. I was able to program my fob. Thanks for all the help.
I tried to use the fob today with no luck. I unplugged receiver then waited 5 min. then plugged back in. It started working again. Only for about a min. then stopped working again. What should i do next. Grounds and star connector have all been cleaned about 6 months ago. Only wire i have not tracked down would be the orange wire. Its weird because it has worked great until i disconnected the battery. Battery is optima red top 6 months old.
I have a new replacement receiver coming. If i have the same problem with the new receiver what do you think i should do next?when you say circuit problem what would you look at next.
