Just bought a 2000 convertible to replace the 95 I sold 2 years ago. One muffler is tied up with some wire. I've tried looking up a part # for that muffler strap but can't seem to find anything. Anyone happen to know that part#? It's the pass side strap if they're different....
Is the muffler still connected via the hanger tab? Towards the rear most portion of the car there is a rubber insulator block with slits to hold the muffler in place. You can purchase the insulator and two mounting bolts (likely from VetteNuts, as mentioned above) to install the muffler properly. If the tab on the muffler is missing - broken or otherwise - then you may have a minor issue re-seating the muffler properly.

The rubber insulators are there. I think the PO had an aftermarket axle back on the car. He didn't reinstall properly and now that I looked closely, I need both straps.
Well, one muffler broke off of its flange because it wasn't supported at the tail end. Pulling the muffler to weld the flange on was a PITA. I'm sure on a lift it's easy, but my high lift jack needed another 3" and even then the muffler was scraping the floor on the way out.
On a more relevant note, those straps are welded over the muffler's and not really replaceable. Both mufflers needed to be fixed. One has huge zip ties until my lift frees up and I can pull the can and weld some stock to it. The other got the top portion of the flange welded directly to the can. That should hold for a while before it rips the can. When it does I'll get some aftermarket mufflers.
I just ordered two new muffler hangers from Ecklers, they have them on sale right now. One of mine on my 2000 has come apart, going to replace them both at the same time.

Link? I just scoured ecklers and did not find these straps....
Maybe we're talking about two different things. What I got was the muffler hanger bracket, rubber coated Mount that the bracket on top of the muffler attaches to. Ecklers part number 25 - 243791-1
Hopefully, you still have two studs for each muffler sticking down out of the rear crossmember. If not then you are in for more of a challenge. The rear muffler hanger is attached to those two studs which are part of a plate that is inside the cross member. Each plate is about 4 inches long with a stud welded to it at each end. The big problem is the studs and plate will push up inside the cross member when somebody removes the muffler hanger and tries to reinstall the muffler later. When this happened to me in 2008 I was able to buy the plate with the two studs but I found out I had to drill a 1 inch or larger hole on the forward side of the cross member to get the new plate inside the cross member and then made a tool so I could fish it over to the two holes in the under side of the cross member and get the studs through the holes.
Glad you were able to adapt. If you still needed help:
SUBMARINE TECH TO THE RESCUE.
Just purchase some stainless steel bandit strap with buckles and secure the TAB back to the muffler with strapping. If you need to, have someone tack weld a cross tab onto the tab so the bandit can secure it to the muffler better.
I would do both mufflers as if one is broke, the other strap cant be far from it!
