I have always had problems with the tranny in my car. Its on its 2nd tranny and the syncros have been swapped out 4 times. The car has always been hard to power shift into 2nd gear, but now it grinds alittle too.
Does anyone elses MN6 hard to get into 2nd.
I have a Z06 slave, aluminum flywheel, and spec stage III clutch.

I think the key words in your post above are POWER SHIFT. I can shift in less than .5 of a second and I don't have to powershift. I've never had a problem with my MN6 or clutch and I've shifted at redline HUNDREDS of times.
While I never had this problem, I am having a problem with 4th gear in the MN12 trans.
When I took it into the dealer, the mechanic was telling me about a Camaro (same trans, T-56) and a Vette, both with bad syncro's in 2nd gear that were then in the shop for repair. He said it was becoming more of a problem.
I have only had stock clutches in my Vettes. I am wondering if some of the aftermarket clutches do not disengage as well as stock causing more wear and tear on the syncro's. I am just speculating, but it seems that most of the 9 and 10 second cars I have seen in person or on videos are NOT powershifted.
If I go slow into second, it won't grind, but if I try to shift too fast, it'll grind a little. I'm waiting for it to get bad enough to have it fixed under warranty. I'm sure they wouldn't fix it now.

Shifting at 3k is not the problem... smooth as silk, but shifting at 6700, grinds like something is stopping it. still goes into gear but takes alittle more persuasion
My engine speed doesn't have anything to do with my little grind issue,
it's simply how fast I try to throw my shifter around. I'd say you've got
a more serious syncro problem than I do.
The car has 31k on the ticker and has been driven hard its whole life. It grinds going into 2nd but is hard to get into first. I can understand that 2 gear syncro going, but how does the 1st gear syncro go... I rarely engine brake in first...
The synchro's job is to try to match up the turning speed of the 2 gears in the transmission so that when the gears begin to mesh, they are turning at the right speed and don't "grind". I would think that the 2 things that would wear the synchros fastest is the speed of the shift, because it forces the synchros to change speed faster, and the speed difference between the gears. Power shifting is hard for both of these reasons. Normally if you're shifting into a higher gear, you let your foot off the accelerator and the engine speed decreases to help match gear speeds. If you're shifting into a lower gear, good drivers also blip the throttle to help match up gear speeds. (This is something I'm still trying to learn to do well.) This helps the synchros do their job. I agree with others that if you want your transmission to last longer, don't power shift it.
