So I was inspecting the car and noticed all four shocks are leaking, my 03 has 77k miles. They seem to be working still but I notice oil on all four corners. I understand these things are pricey, and plan on converting it to regular shocks when the time comes. is this pretty common for these shocks to leak with under 100k on the clock?
I doubt it's the miles, per se, so much as the fact that the seals are 14 years old.
I replaced mine with the C6 Z06 shocks. That wasn't terribly pricey, and will hold me till I get ready to do a coilover swap.
We have used ones in stock for $180 each that are not leaking. I would reccomend the C6 Z06 shock, we install 20 sets or more a year. They are on all my C5's and we can ship you a set for $319.
Not common especially all four are leaking. I wonder what you consider a leak. If it is just a light oil film this is to be expected as some oil will eventually seep out of seals but will not affect the functionality of shocks. I would not replace until you have them checked out by a pro. They are supposed to last almost as long as the vehicle they are installed on. Good luck.

There was a post on here some months back where one of the members had the F-45 system {earlier style} and also more expensive from what they say.
This poor guy went to a dealer to have his replaced and he said it cost him a couple thousand dollars to have just 4 shocks installed. I read it here a while back and I guess a search might find the post.
But when it comes to me paying a couple thousand dollars for some shock absorbers that's when the old Gabriel Hijacker air shocks will be going on and I'll have the best of both worlds.
You would be able to get it low enough to be able to grind about half of the tailpipe tips off {which must be desireable for some reason} while making sparks at the same time.
Now it just don't get no better than that
But then on the other side of the coin you could actually use a shock like this to help you get over those obstacles like driveway entrances, speed bumps and such. I've been throwing this kind of thing out there to see if someone else had any ideas or has triede some form of a temporary lifting system for those type situations. Just an inch or 2 more. {That's what XXX said}

Have them checked out first and then if you need to replace, go with the C6 Z06 shocks. Be sure to get the F55 option tuned out of the computer - here is a file that explains the procedure.

I have a 2012 Centennial Grand Sport and just had all four magnetic shocks replaced at the Chevrolet dealership. My car only has 40k on but is under warranty through a aftermarket warranty from CarMax . The total was over $4000 dollars parts and labor with me only paying a $50 deductible. All four were leaking, only noticed when I went to do a oil change.
