Trying to find some information out before tackling this.
C6 production 08/04
Entire rear suspension with 3.42 diff
I know about the weak case issue
I know the transmission were the same for 05 and c5, so the diff will bolt directly to the transmission.
Biggest question is about the wheelbase added length of 1.2" for the 2005 year did it move the diff back as well?
So will i need a spacer to fit the diff to the transmission because of that? Rkt makes an adapter to fit 06-up that is 5/8" thick. But that is a bolt pattern change as well.

I'm not familiar with the 05 but I'm pretty sure all c6 diffs bolt up completely different than the c5 so you will need the c6 cradle and rkt56 conversion mounts... the rear wheels will be pushed back in the wheel wells a tad bit depending on what suspension setup you are using... you have a couple of choices, you can keep the c5 lcas if you are running coilovers or if you don't have coilovers and will be using a shock/leaf spring setup then you will have to use c6 lcas/leaf spring... from the cars that I have seen the ones with c6 lcas have the wheels pushed further back in the wells... also the c6 torque tube is longer as is the shift rod by about an inch or so, just reuse the c5 tube and shift rod... call Rick at rkt56 or any of the guys at rpm and I bet they will know for sure what you will need to do with 05 parts... check out this link, I recently posted some before and after comparisons of my car https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...project-2.html

the 05 use the same 4l60e transmission as the 97-04. so that's the dilemma of whether i'll need the offset mounts or not. 550.00 seems like an awful lot for two mounts.

I have an auto. all i am using the the differential and entire rear suspension.
People have cut and welded the stock mounts to offset them.
Are you sure you want to go that way. The '05 C6 guys are using C5 diffs and making an adapter plate for the C5 mount since the '05 C6 diffs are relatively rare and expensive used.

Just read the torque tube is the same for c5 and 2005 c6. So I'm still wondering if it will just fit right in and it's the 2006-up that is pushed back.
found out lgmotorsports makes solid mount. so i'll be making some out of square tube steel and weld bolts to it. i can put a 1/4" rubber mat material i have to reduce vibration.
Are there any down-sides to having solid mounts? You can get liquid polyurethane resin on line and mold your own poly designed ones.
I have seen folks make their own engine mounts with it using the old hardware.

Maybe some vibration. Some might say increased chance of breaking the case. But If LG Motorsports sells them, I don't think it'll be a problem. Can always add a rubber pad between the mount and case to reduce vibration.
As much researching I tried, never came across this information. My fault for not asking. Thanks for letting me know the length. It'll be fun getting it out and in again.
