G202 Ground
Just exactly where is the G202 ground attached to the chassis? The manual only shows me a location somewhere under the windshield and instrument panel area for the 200 numbers. Is it behind the fusebox?

G201 is at the bottom of the left A pillar.
G202 is at the bottom of the right A pillar.
The A pillar is where the door hinges attach.
It is behind the plastic floor kick-up panel.

Thanks to both of you for the info! It was a great help. I found the ground easily with the stake pack at the bottom of the A pillar, but it was installed at a 45 degree angle leaving very little room for access for a tool to remove it. The area looked in great shape, well protected and dry so I targeted G101 instead. I found a black Almost like paint between the frame and the first wire end. Cleaned it up along with the stake pack. So far there are no codes in 5 miles of driving. Three grounds and 3 stake packs done so far. I'm crossing my fingers at this point!

hello I am having the same problem that you are. With G202 I know it's the passenger side A-pillar interior of the car. Is this under the glove box by the ecu under that panel or more towards the right leg kick panel towards the side of the car? Any pictures at all?

explains it I was under the front kick panel where I did the Column lock fix.
Try a gear wrench... The sears ones work very well. You need to find one that has very small gear teeth so you do not need to nove the handle much to get another bite.
I have used a 1/4" drive ratchet and short 10mm Socket.

pretty sure my G202 ground is fine. When I open the passenger side door and shake the harness rubber accordion the warning lights turn off and the AC/radio work again. Looks like it will be a problem with the door harness.
LOL!! Its NOT the harness! Its the FEMALE POWER CONNECTOR. Specifically the shitty female pins. They SPREAD APART and make poor contact. That causes the DCM to turn ON & OFF, ON & OFF,ON & OFF,ON & OFF,ON & OFF,ON & OFF,.................. And that corrupts the serial data line so the modules can NOT communicate.
The TOP ROW middle pin is bad and can cause that issue!

bill - me and my buddy are finally getting around to this tonight. To fix that female connector should you put a new one in or straighten it out? Thanks!
When I did mine, Bill C recommended a dental pic.....worked great...Then use the push/pull test- male prong same size as the male connector, should have some resistance when pushed in and pulled out.
That connector is NOT your issue. That clear plastic tubing is nothing more than a SPEAKER SHIELD and has nothing to do with the issue. That plug is a signal connector and has wires for low voltage signal wires.
The POWER CONNECTOR is what you need to be concerned with
Try and straighten them and DO the push pull pin test to insure that you fixed them properly.
MAKE SURE that you disconnect the battery before doing amy work on that connector!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Just spent the weekend going through the entire car cleaned all grounds except those connected to the engine. G201 and G202 were my suspected culprits. In my attempt to unbolt those I damaged and ended up cutting the ground wires free and cleaned up. It actually turned out pretty nice and I was able to do this with parts and tools I had lying around. I believe this way is superior to the oem pins/terminal stake. I should also note that the previous owner installed a stereo and was a hack, I found one ground that was fried I assume this was causing my issues but who knows. Anyway I thought this may help someone who can’t access those two grounds and is willing to drill and tap some holes
Nice Job. I did the same thing last year. I left the stock wires on the post but added new connectors to the old wire ends, and then added a new wire over the factory's- doubled them up. No more gremlins...

Let me just throw this out there for Bill. I was a Field Engineer at IBM for 37 years and we were ALWAYS instructed to use star washers on all grounds. What do you think?
