I will be replacing my oil pump in a couple of weeks decided to upgrade to melling high volume oil pump. just a question on what else should I change while I am there. thank you in advance for the feedback.
Depending on how many miles you have, I would also replace the timing chain with an LS2 chain and it wouldn hurt to replace thr sprockets, they are pretty cheap.
Wouldnt be a bad time to change the harmonic balencer as they are a known failure point on LS1s.
No need to upgrade, the Melling M295 will suffice for 90% of Corvette owners.
How many miles are on the car?
Why are you changing the pump?
78k basically changing cause I have seen low oil pressure at idle at operating temp. ive heard oil pumps are a down side on ls1s and eventually fail haven't checked the o ring or the filter yet. just want to be safe than sorry

I've never seen an LS1 oil pump "fail". It's a Gerotor style pump, not much to fail inside.
I would replace the oil pressure sender before I ever embarked on the pump replacement.

What pressure at what temp? What oil weight?
I have read of many ls1/ls6 oil pump failures, probably the number one cause for low oil pressure including my own failure.
I replaced mine with a melling been running well since. I would replace everything you can afford to do while tearing down if you're running original parts, ie cam, timing chain, water pump, thermostat, starter etc.

if oem do an ls9, you can get one new for around $150... you will need a gen4 timing setup, cover, wiring as well to do that so factor that in as well... thinking about it, it probably isn't worth it after all that and an aftermarket cam made for an ls1/6 would end up being cheaper

yeah it is popular for boost but would still work n/a... people do the same with the ls6 cam but the ls9 would probably net a little more power over the ls6... but like I edited in my post above it probably isn't worth it, I was typing before my brain was really thinking
