K ladies and Gents,

I just had my transmission rebuilt and a new torque converter. I primed the tc with a quarter, put it on the transmission (4l60e) correctly. 3 clicks to seat on the pump. I replaced my rear main seal with a factory gm seal, whole back plate with gasket was replaced. I had the interior torn apart for new interior so I almist fully disconnected the shifter but after I unscrewed everything I lifted on it and heard a loud crack... sounded like somethis g broke and the shifter then lifted easily. I looked but couldn't find anything broken so I moved on. Now after reassembly I have a VERY sloppy shifter, depress the button and it quickly drops to reverse. But it basically falls into neutral. I can hear and feel an audible click when it hits neutral and it won't go back to reverse without depressing the brake. And I can easily pull it down to drive with no clicks or anything, and once I depress the button and pull it down past drive it clicks but just slides back into neutral. The strength of my leather boot pulls it from 1, 2, and 3 back to neutral. Also it doesn't start, doesn't even try to start and it's hooked up to a battery charger. The only codes on my DIC are a knock sensor code which has been there, an airbag code which has been there, and a wheel speed sensor code, also has been there. Doespecially anyone have any Ideas?

K I am an idiot, I broke the shifter linkage so im trying to find one. anyone have one that they arent using? :-)

 

Everyone makes mistakes, unfortunately it was your day. It's probably a dealer only item.

Did you break the cable or just the bushings in it?

 

I actually broke the plastic piece on the shifter end. It's a long plastic pc and I broke it in the middle. The linkage is still connected but the rigidity is gone.
