Hey! Corvette fans. I need to understand some exhaust issues. I had a Callaway CAI, ARHs installed w/high flow cats and kept my stock mufflers. Now after paying that off with my allowance from the wife I am. thinking about changing mufflers. Now the question is since I have high flow cats installed w/headers there is no need to have mufflers /w cats correct? Or ? Thanks for any input and if you have any suggestions for mufflers that are throaty but not loud, I would greatly appreciate it.
But can you order the mufflers without cats so you don't in my case have the high flow cats after the headers then the cats with the mufflers. I'm a little confused on this part. Having a total of four cats on exhaust system seems to be a restrictive proposition.

"Axle back" mufflers will not add another set of cats. You would have LT headers to two cats to x or h pipe, to mufflers. Some omit the cats altogether and run mufflers only. Unless highly modified, your high flow cats will not cause any significant loss of power, so as mentioned above, just get an axle back with new mufflers. You can even do this easily at home with a few hand tools.
