2003 with factory HUD.
At startup, all is working as it should. After 20 minutes or so the HUD shows -- (thats two dashes).
Brightness control works, position works, just displays dashes.
Turn the car off then on, no change. Turn the car off and wait 30 minutes, and the HUD is working again, but fails in less time (10 minutes or so).
It is temperature sensitive for if the AC is on, it takes much longer to fail. If the car is sitting in the hot sun, it may have dashes at startup or very shortly after.
I have replaced the HUD with no change. So, could it be the ICP? The ICP does not have any other issue.
I am out of ideas. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Don't know, but I suspect that if there is a gremlin the system is throwing codes... Have you pulled the codes yet?

The module for the HUD is mounted to the back of the instrument cluster.
Sorry I don't know how to trouble shoot it. I can only assume it would have a com code associated with it.

One Code
A0-LDCM B2262 H Horizontal Position sensor Fit.
No clue what that means and haven't found a direct reference on the forums.

My only thought is to replace the ICP but finding an 50th aniv model may be a bit difficult. Then finding someone with a Tech II tool that will set the odometer correctly. Just a pain.

No easy answer on this one.

LDCM=left door control module. It doesn't seem related. Horizontal position is likely the mirror.

It sounds like the HUD is lacking some critical data from the IPC (I know you figured that out already). The only thing I can think of is to test suspect parts against a known good unit in this kind of trouble shooting.

You could try cleaning all the connectors with a good contact cleaner and re-seat them several times if you haven't already tried this.
