ignition switch will not shut engine off
I have a 2004 C5. The ignition switch will not shut engine off. Starts up and runs perfect but you turn the key to the off position and dash goes off as normal all gauges go to 0 but the engine keeps running as normal. I need to pull the ignition relay to shut motor down. I have checked the grounds and replaced the ignition switch ( but not the key tumbler part ) I have also checked the alternator to make sure that was not back feeding the ignition. Im at the end of my rope on this one. Please help..

I would have thought by replacing your ignition switch, it should have corrected the problem, It is obvious that your pcm is still powered after you turn the ignition switch off. I would examine the pcm wiring harness for possible shorted wires and examine the connectors at the pcm.

Examine the wires in and the pins inside the connectors to the ignition switch. They can MELT the plastic connector and short out. That would be the very first place I would go.
