I'm running Borla ATAK (updated version) with Kooks LT and catted xpipe. No drone. Cat back screams above 3k rpm.
Since you are catless, there is a possibility of some drone with ANY system. Good luck.

Give us a call @443-730-9428, we sell Corsa and Borla they don't have drone. We can get you a really good deal on either one. You can also come by and check out our current sales listed on our website linked below.

Default Borla X pipe

On my 2001 with stock 02 cats and stock titanium exh- no drone. Replaced stock h pipe with Borla x pipe- drone. I don't know if replacing the stock mufflers with aftermarket ones would eliminate the drone or not? Thinking about just going back to the stock h pipe. Opinions?

As has been said many times about exhaust sound, it all depends on the owner's idea of what sounds "cool". I have a C6 and just today removed the Flowmaster axle-back mufflers and replaced with stock. I much prefer to hear the engine noises than the exhaust noise! The droning and the sheer volume of the Flowmaster was terribly annoying, and I think anything that loud will get old quickly. Some of these things sound like a Ford pickup with glass packs! Does anyone really think he can feel five extra HP? Now I can listen to the engine (beautiful music!), have a conversation, or listen to the radio. In my world, loud is ugly and tacky, but to each his own.

I like the old sayings "under-promise and over-deliver." Or: "walk softly and carry a big stick."

Me too, I didn't realize how lucky I was until I started looking at exhaust prices!

Short and sweet story; Corsa was a marine exhaust supplier. Jim the owner bought a C5 and hated the exhaust drone. He had his guys figure out why the stock setup had the drone and then engineer a way to eliminate it. That is how they got into the automotive side of the exhaust business.

If the PO had not put the factory Z06 Ti cat back on the car, I would have either found one or had a Corsa system installed. I have had Borla systems on a number of cars and only one I ever had an issue with was the one on an RX7 - but that's another story.

I recently installed a Billy Boat PRT system on my ‘03 Z06. Very aggressive sound at WOT but no drone that I notice at cruise speeds. Nice rumble at start up and idle too. I really like it. The rest of the system is stock.
