Default What short block could be in here?

I took my C5Z which I have owned for about 3 weeks now to get it tuned as it was running out of steam at high rpm.

Come to find out that the MAF that was in the car was from Autozone and wasn't keeping up with the air flow.

Car has Halltech intake, bassani catback and a little box that converts a 58x to 24x crank signal which was interesting.

Heads are 243s, intake and TB appear to be LS6. Everything on to is basically LS6 expect for unknown block. Car was running on stock ECU tune and going very lean at high rpm due to crappy MAF and bigger engine.

Needless to say it made much more power than I expected for a C5z with stock. In case you cant the the picture its at 391whp and 408wtq after tune with CAI and exhaust. What kind of block could be in there yielding these numbers?

I think that it goes without saying that you purchased someone's project car. Make the best of it and see what she will do!

On the surface it looked pretty stock except CAI and catback which was what I was looking for. Not complaining about the extra oomph now that I figured out why it was not making top end power and falling on its face. For the first thing I thought that it was normal for these cars to make a bunch of torque with no top end power.

I found a few other things that were broken like EBCM, hazard light switch. Those were easy fixes. Tranny was super notchy and I thought it was due to the aftermarket short shifter. New tranny oil made it smooth like butter. Looks like the car was neglected a bit by the previous owner but almost everything has been sorted out. Now I have to figure out why the horn and cigarette lighters arent working. All the fuses seem ok.

Plenty of dyno shops are liberal with their correction factors. A lot of people are looking for high numbers. What kind of dyno was this? Depending on the dyno and shop, I could very much see this being a stock LS6 (apart from what you mentioned).

Does not a crank signal conversion box imply that you have an LS2 or LS3 in there?

Seems a little low. Is not a stock Z 400HP?

At the crank, not the tire.

But which one is it?

Any way I can tell by looking at the block from the top without dismantling stuff?
