Default Warming up the traction control

I got the oddest message on my DTC board today. It said "warming up the traction control system." Does anyone have a clue what the hell does that mean?

Very common occurrence when you drive very slow cornering like in a parking garage and such. Car needs to be going in a straight line for a few seconds for the sensors to function properly. Happened to me a few times on vacation when parked in parking garage.

Yep, get this all the time. It will ding and go away once parameters are met.

You need to immediately light up the tires, to help warm up the traction control.

This was happening to me and it was the IAT sensor reading incorrectly. Turned out that the wire going to the sensor was corroded. After fixing that I have not seen the message since, but before fixing it I would have that message all the time.

Thanks. For future possible replacement, where is the IAT located?

On a 1997-2000 the IAT is located on the air bridge. On 2001 and later I believe it is part of the MAF.
