99 Corvette, only 32,000 miles new battery and new oil change. drove 100 miles this weekend . got in Monday and put key in, seat and steering wheel adjusted. turned the key DEAD nothing. anyone know what the issue could be?
Where I would start is if the lights come on when you open door.
if it is an auto try starting in neutral, then other gears to see if it will crank in other gear posistiin it is probably neutral safety switch that needs adjusted, possibly replaced. If it does. Or check for corrosion on starter
then I would Check fuses and relays
battery connections (shouldn't be the problem but you never know)
If lights don't come on check battery voltage
battery connections at battery
Any number of possibilities from battery to ignition switch to starter solenoid to neutral safety switch (automatic) to clutch pedal start switch (Manual). Is the car a manual or auto trans?? The electrical start system is different depending on trans type.
If you have power to the headlights all the time and the interior stuff when you turn the key to on, it could be as simple as the battery terminal bolts are not properly tightened. 11 ft/lbs is the spec and they must be clean!
