service column lock
I have had a bypass to the locking mechanism done last year. When I started to leave this morning I got the Service Column message. I had assumed it was becuz I had low tire pressure in LR. I filled the tire, reset inside the car. when I took off the car stalled. It stalled several more times. Is there something I can do to rest everything? My mechanic searched for codes with a daig. machine but found nothing

I to have the same problem. I have a 2002/manual. The first time took it to dealer who charged a whopping $900 and several months later did it again! Found the bypass and had it installed about a year ago. Just installed a brand new battery a couple of months ago and "VOILA" I'm still getting the Service Column message again!

What do you mean by "bypass"??? There are 2 different types. One commonly known as a Column Lock Bypass or CLB and the better option known as an LMC5.
If you installed the CLB you would have had to drop the drivers side knee bolster to get to where it is installed.
If it was the LMC5 that is installed in the passenger foot well at the Body Control Module.

I installed the LMC5. Sorry didn't mean to confuse you. All help is greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end...
