Default Body panel removal question

99 Coupe. Do all the body panels/bumper covers come off by just removing a ton of screws? In other words, is there any cutting and/or trashing of parts involved? While my engine is out, I want to send off the body panels for paint. Thanks in advance.

For the most part, yes.
The entire front and rear body panels will come off by just removing a bunch of bolts and screws.

The halo and the rockers are glued onto the car. They can be removed, but it's a pain in the ***.

Good luck

I AGREE 100%

Here is a picture for you:

The inner fenders, halo cover and the door sills are glued to the frame. Everything else will come off:

The HALO is removed on this C5.

When you pull off the rear fenders and the bumper, you will have to deal with the rear TUB:

I´ve been there half a year ago. As others have posted its pretty easy to remove front/rear fascia and front fenders. The rear fenders (quarter panels) have a few screws in top where the fender lines up with the roof, but you cant access those. I found it possible (as many others) that you can work the the quarter panel from side to side carefully, and eventually it will come loose. I dont have pictures, but do a search and it will be pretty forward.

At this point it was easy to perform a good paint job:

A good advice: this is the perfect chance to do a little clean up behind those panels. It´s much more easy to do now when things are apart. Remove dust & dirt, clean up wires and make sure to re-route them in the same way. If anything is broken or insulation worn out, its easy to solder it now. I noticed that exhaust gas had made a little corrosion at the rear frame - so I took my chance to sand and paint - and now it looks like new.
