Hi guys well I decided to keep my Vette. I was driving Sat. morning and my trac./handeling kept switching back and forth without me hitting the button. I took off the front kick panal cover to find the BCM coverd in water. I have seen reports of the AC evaporation line being clogged and am guessing that is where the water is coming from. Does anyone know how to get to the line to unclog it or the best way to fix the prob. I also have a prob. with the trac. contro. Often when im driving and hit a small bump the DIC reads service active handleing, service trac. control, service ABS. I would guess that something is loose but am not sure. I have checked the wheel sensors and they are fine. If I turn the car off and back on the prob. goes awaysometimes for a week sometimes only for a couple of miles until I hit a new bump. Any help would be great. Thanks

I'd get a dry computer before addressing the other problems.. All your issues could be from the wetness!
Get the BCM dried out, (some electrical contact cleaner spray might be good too), bag it or protect the entire area with some plastic, and then get that AC drip tube openned up. I am about to do the same thing. They say it is on the passenger side firewall, behind and under the engine head area. I wish us both luck in finding and fixing it! :smash: :)
Your BCM is/will be ruined by the water instrusion. Mine was.
The a/c evaporator drain is a small 90 degree rubber elbow that attaches to a tube from the evaporator. It can only be reached from below the car, when the engine is cool.
Jack up the right front of the car and suport the frame with a jackstand. You will see the tube behind the RH engine head, on the firewall. Remove the tube, clean it out, and cut a larger opening at the end. The end is moulded into a small, pea-size hole, which permit small debris to collect and clog the tube. Replace the tube.
This is a very common problem with C5's during hot, humid weather. Not only does the tube clog, the opening is not big enough to permit the condensation to drain quickly enough.
I was stranded for five days while driving out-of-state, on vacation, when my BCM was ruined by a clogged a/c drain. You must also remove the RH seat and trim, to remove and dry the RH carpet.
Good luck. This is just another example of the the many poor engineering and design flaws in the C5's.
I left my cover off and the windows down on a good hot day. The BCM seemed to dry out quickly and nothing seems to be going wrong yet. Should I expect there to be any problems with it down the road? The problem with my ABS,TRAC Control, Handleing was happening before the BCM got wet. The problem first started after I took the car to the dealership to have the Drivers side headlamp motor replaced. Not sure if they could have bumped or done anything then or not.
Before I realized the a/c drain was clogged and leaking water into the BCM compartment, I received a variety DIC messages. The hatch repeatedly unlocked, the power door locks cycled open and closed, and the horn sounded erratically. Eventually, the BCM immobilized the car. Good luck.
