Acquired a very nice aluminum, gloss black powder coated, power steering reservoir originally made for a Pontiac late model GTO (2004-5). While similar in size and shape to the plastic one on the C5, it's mounting tab on the rear is different. Aside from fabricating a new mounting bracket to match the aluminum reservoir, has anyone remote mounted their power steering reservoir? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
I didn't remote mount mine, per se. I had to flip my LS7 tb so the blower would have space. To do so, the reservoir must move forward. I had to cut and play with the bracket to make it work, and I ordered some aluminum spacers online to put the bracket further forward. With careful fitting, my reservoir is just 1mm ahead of the tb actuator housing. Looks like it was meant to be there.

I found a bracket from a 2004 GTO and may just try to make it fit, or graft the mounting pad to the C5 bracket. Most I loose is the bracket if it does not work.

that is a nice looking reservoir though... moroso also makes an aluminum one that is advertised as direct fit for c5/c6, I thought about buying one and having it powdercoated but haven't got around to it

i actually have one of the Moroso ones as well. It comes with hard tube nipples and no cap, as it uses the stock cap. The unit I picked up for the GTO uses AN fittings and has its own cap, and is powder coated. But the mounting pad welded on the back does not match the C5 bracket. Its made by Aeroflow out of Australia. Hopefully I can get it figured out or I may use the Moroso unit. I am putting in a power steering fluid cooler and converting all the lines to AN -6 except the outlet from the reservoir which will be -10. Already converted a new pump inlet tube to a -10 fitting using a compression fitting on the hard tube. The outlet was a screw in replacement made by Detriot Speed Shop.
