Have a 2001 Z06--low miles--stock everything--Turn ignition on--message reads--charge system fault-reduce engine power traction control-low voltage-cel light comes on-sometimes car will fire right up-if no messages and runs perfect-other times it will act dead--when no messages car runs perfect--had to dealer--checked all grounds--check battery-starter-ign switch everything checks good--only codes are 1518H and 1278H--no other codes--any ideas?

Thx for the idea--but the dealer did a test after driving awhile--passed--its not the battery--as soon as you turn the ign on--dont start the cr it will either send out messages or it will say chevrolet and start right up and run like new00the dealer wants car back but no clue s to what they can look for-
Check if you a voltagedrop over the igntionswitch contacts .
If these conatcts are "burned" you can get at voltage drop over the switch and the electronic feeded by this voltage will not enough voltage to function properly .
Measure the voltage between RA1 on fuse Fuse 47 and ground.
Then measure the voltage between Fuse 9 , 10 or 11 and ground .
These voltages should be similar (max 0.2 volt difference) :
If they

Thx for the advice--I think i found the problem--first the negative cable bolt was stripped--put in new bolt byt still was happening--than i thought maybe the metal in the cable was not making a good contact with the battery--put in a metal washer--wella everything good now--:looks like it was just a bad connection to the negative terminal=

Dealerships are great aren't they?
For what they charged you for testing, they sure missed the problem.
Do not defend dealerships.
How did that "professional help" work out?

Keep in mind, the bolt is usually made from a harder material than the insert on the battery. My vote is that you still have a battery problem, and you put a "band aid" on it.
You didn't mention it, but just so we know, how old is the battery?
GM has had many problems over the years with side post connections--since 2004 gm decided top post only--we all know why=The battery is a ac delco-silver pro series-about 2 years old--The battery our friend and GM Tech pro Paul Kerner says we need--
