So I installed LED's in my DRL's. I spliced in the resistor as advised. Everything worked great. The other day I noticed i had hyperflash going on with the left blinker. I went to troubleshoot it and noticed it had burned up the socket and turned the inside of the housing black. Anybody have any idea what would cause this and how I should go about fixing it to prevent it from happening again?

It seems something went wrong with your left LED bulb or the contacts in the socket.
On the other hand, you mentioned you're using resistors, but not where you mounted them.
Word of caution: the shunt resistors needed to avoid hyperflashing get so hot that they require a built-in heat sink. They should be mounted to a metal frame or something that doesn't get damaged and helps dissipate the created heat.
The best solution for this, as mentioned above, is to install a hyperflash harness. This harness will fix hyperflashing turn signals when LEDs are installed (although hazards will still do it), while avoiding all the problems associated with the heat created by shunt resistors.
A hyperflash harness like this one is completely plug-and-play with no splicings required at all.
ok. I am going to purchase the plug and play hyperflash harness, and replace the burnt socket. Is there any difference in the 10 dollar Dorman socket and the 20 dollar one sold by Ecklers and Corvette Mods?

I've never compared them but I'm assuming "Corvette Tax" maybe involved . It's just a socket, so I would think the Dorman version would be fine.
