Hey guys, I previously thought I had a security issue with my key not turning, but I've determined from accidentally putting in my Subarus much larger key, I ruined the Key Cylinder. I had another one made today, but can't remove the old Cylinder from the Ignition Switch without turning the key to the on position. Any tips on how one would depress the copper tab that frees it while the key is in off position?

You are SCREWED! It wont come out unless you get the key cylinder to rotate.
Do yourself a favor and just purchase a NEW Ignition switch module and insert the new KEY CYLINDER into the new switch. You and your car will be MUCH happier..
Our C5s are very well known to have defective/worn ignition switche contacts. The electrical contacts inside the switch (there are 5 electrical switch contact inside the module) get dirty and fail to provide full battery voltage to the modules.
I think they are right around $60. I would also make sure that the actual connectors that plug into the switch do not have any damaged/defective/spread apart female pins.
