I have a base model 2000, and have owned it for 3yrs. In that time, my front turn signals have worked intermittingly. I noticed specifically the last time I waxed the car, the left signal started working again. I am guessing its a bad connection? as always the expert info is appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also had the same problem with a 1998. I tried long life bulbs and new sockets. I finally fixed it by purchasing Radio Flyer's LED bulbs and hyperflash harness. That was two years ago. End of problem.
If all the bulbs are intact & functioning properly then it is likely the hazard switch. The turn signals are powered through the hazard switch, and repeated usage of the signals begins to wear down the powered functions.
This is fairly well documented in the C5 community.
The other thing you can try is cycling the 4/way switch - spray some contact cleaner in it and push it in & out about 25 times, this might help for awhile. If it does, next might be a replace.
If it a bad flasher you can also use this method....
Rebel 1 CF
Easy fix for this problem. Takes about 45 minutes and $9.00. I used Tridon flasher #EL12 from Autozone. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1569256474-post50.html
the rubber grommet seal goes bad in the housings and causes the bulb connection to corrode. Usually the housing melts from the heat of the bulbs. Some new clear housings with switchback tower LED's really update the looks of the car.
