I can't give you exact numbers, but your RPMs will be higher, which makes sense. I went from 3.15 to 3.42 and if I remember, went of about 600rpm. 3.73 would be bigger.
I can' t make any real recommendation as it's something the ultimate owner will have to decide for themselves, but I have tried a few. My first converter was a ProTorque 2900 with 3.15's, then I put in 3.42's with the same converter. Then a 3200 with the 3.42's was on the menu, but that was "not enough", so now it's a 4400 with 4.10's and it's too mild !! :D . Seriously, it's what you desire from your car and combo, just check with other owners with the same "end goal" for their cars and I'm sure you will be happy. The converter sway in a C5 is the best thing you can do for better performance.

So Gary, did you sell your ST3500 yet? :D I was just about to order the SY3500. I do have the 3:15 gears though and don't have the $ in the budget to change them yet.......
Tracy and Mike - yes, the ST 3500 has been sold to a good friend in New Jersey...what's his name...darn...oh yeah, something like Edgar...Redar...yeah, REDGAR... that's his name. :D

Re: What torque converter. (C5JONNY)
I think the main difference in choosing between the SY 3500 and the ST 3500 is the tires you will be using.
If you will be on drag radials or anything more than that, then the ST 3500 will obviously produce faster times because it hits harder. So at the track, the ST 3500 would be my choice all the time.
But on the street with street tires, I say the SY 3500 is the best bet. You will never hook up with either converter on street tires but the SY 3500 will be a little easier to launch.

So how does one launch with a high stall converter and street tires?
I am still trying to figure this part out. Do you 1/2 floor it? what do you do? Do you go into competitive mode or let the computer help cut back power? Do you get the RPM's up to 2000+ before launch or not?
Lots of Q's and no answers. :(
