Default Strange A/C switch problem

Hello All,

I have a 2002 with a manual control A/C system, that whenever I switch the fan speed to the #3 position no air, But works fine in all other switch position.

Do you guru's out there think maybe the switch has gone bad on the #3 position? if so can the switch be change out by itself or the whole panel need to be changed out?

Thanks

Seems to me there is a resistor pack on the blower motor. You need to replace that and not the switch. Hopefully others will chime in to confirm or deny.

I would check with a local parts store as the same resistor pack was used on other GM manual A/C systems and might be in stock a lot less expensive than at the local Stealership.
Thanks for the reply and info. I've check on the resistor pack but there are so many different one for the same year range, kind of confused. So I have to remove the old unit before I can order the replacement unit.

Thanks again for all the help and advise.
