Trigger circuit for Rear View Camera
First time Corvette owner and first time poster here...
I read thru many threads here on this topic but didn't find a definitive answer. Some of the threads are a bit older, so maybe someone came up with a solution since.
I bought a rear view camera and rear view mirror with the LCD built in. When testing the system on the bench all works fine so I know my components are good.
The issue comes up here I am tapping into the light green wire on the reverse lamps and it doesn't seem to carry enough voltage to trigger the camera. I measured the voltage back there at the reverse lamps and get something like 9.65 volts. If I apply a full 12v to the camera it triggers and all is good. My first thought was maybe a poor ground however on trying different ground sources, it didn't change the voltage.
Can anyone tell me why I see only 9.65 volts at the reverse lamps? Is there a better place to tap into to get voltage when the car is put into reverse? (6-speed manual)
Thanks in advance for your help!
