Default TPMS question

Hello all,

I've recently installed C6 18-19 wheels with new Schrader #28006 sensors on my 00 C5 and I'm having issues getting them to function.

After reading multiple posts with a lot of great info I'm still having no luck.
FYI the original wheels/sensors worked fine prior to this conversion.

I'm wondering if the past owner had switched the system over to a newer style and this could be the issue. The car had no FOBs when I purchased it so I got one on eBay and it programmed fine.

Is there a chance that this system could have been upgraded since the FOB works fine, or do I just need to get a larger magnet and try again?

All help and thoughts appreciated.

Larger magnet worked! We used a magnet from a computer hard drive that is one of the most powerful magnets I've ever seen. So powerful that if you stick it to your refrigerator you basically lose fingernails peeling it off ....

Thanks for the info as the magnet I had was just too weak. I was nervous because as a courtesy the dealer tried to calibrate them when I was in for an oil change recently so I thought there may be something more significantly wrong but evidently not.
