What is it?
The answer is probably on this forum somewhere, but I don't know what to use for a search word.
I'm under the car, preliminary to changing the fuel filter. The fuel filter is on the driver's side frame rail, abeam the center of the 6M transmission. I looked over on the passenger side of the transmission, and saw a black plastic box about the size and shape of a pack of cigarettes. There is a hose (vacuum?) about 3/8 or 1/2 id coming out of the box and going up over the frame. I can't tell where it ends up, but I noticed it appears to be somewhat flattened at the bend over the frame rail. Almost looks like it gets pinched when the right rear wheel hits a bump.
Anyone know what this thing is.... and if I should be worried about the hose restriction? Actually, the hose is not completely restricted.... just made somewhat oval at the bend point, like radiator hoses get when softened with age.

That's it (the pic).
While changing the fuel filter I took a close look...the hose is not closed off, but definitely is no longer round. Can't tell if it gets squashed when the suspension flexes upward, or if it's just a fifteen year old rubber hose that's weakening.
