Default shocking options

I have 2003 c5 with 52k and I live in the worst roads in America state of pa. My shocks are shot and im not trying to pay 4g at the dealership for replacement . Its just a leisure car but I do put it through her paces . What are budget friendly ideas for replacement ? I was told my best option would be c6 zo6 shocks?? Thanks.

F45/F55 Delete
1. Hook up Tech 2, turn car on, make sure module in the rear is plugged in. Do not unplug the rear module.
2. Use Tech 2 to delete the F45 option (F55 does not appear on the menu screen, use F45).
3. Save new configuration.
4. Do not turn car off, do not remove Tech 2. Go to the module in the rear of the car, unplug the grey connector (the widest one), leave any other plug(s) in. [leave the other 1 (F45) or 2 (F55) plugged in]
5. Turn off car, leave Tech 2 plugged in.
6. Remove remaining plugs from module in the rear of car. [never plug them back in again, if you do the F45 turns on automatically]
7. Turn car on to verify the "max speed 80 mph" is gone.
8. Unplug Tech 2.

RPO's are listed on the sticker inside the glove box or F55vcan be recognized by the second 2 position dial on the center console.

If so you must have someone with a Tech II remove the RPO from the BCM BEFORE you can replace the shocks with conventional shocks. Failure to do so will result in the maximum speed being limited to 80MPH by the computer and an associated message displayed in the DIC.

There are a number of aftermarket shocks that can be used but the C6 Z06 shocks are what many owner choose. All 4 should be available for around $300 but installation, unless you do that yourself, is additional.

Someone should be able to post the actual steps with the Tech II to delete the F55 RPO. I don't have access to my reference material until tomorrow or I would have posted it here for you...
Great. Yes I have the f55. Im a descent wrench so I would do the shocks myself. Someone told me I could just zip tie the sensors up out of the way and that would be fine but I think I would rather disable. Ok , dumb question, what is tech II ? Where do I get or borrow one ?

You will NOT be able to just "Someone told me I could just zip tie the sensors up out of the way and that would be fine"

The F-55 shock does NOT allow you to do that. It MUST be removed/deleted from the RPO list in your BCM.

Another vote for the C6 ZO6 Shocks. I would also recommend springing for the Z51 sway bars and metal bar end links if you have the plastic sway bar end links..
